The New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police is a leadership organization that has adopted as its mission the challenge of developing future law enforcement leaders. With this commitment toward innovation and professionalization of law enforcement agencies, the Association has produced a substantive course to develop law enforcement leaders for today's challenges in law enforcement.
Overview
The New Jersey Police Executive Institute is an advanced level education / training institute whose mission is to enhance the professional development of law enforcement practitioners in the State of New Jersey. This five-day program is designed for chiefs of police and command level personnel. (It is not approved for entry-level officers or for personnel who have recently been appointed to their first supervisory position.) Attendance at all 5 days is mandatory.
Accreditation by Fairleigh Dickinson University
After successful completion of the Institute, attendees are eligible to apply for 3 graduate or undergraduate credits with Fairleigh Dickinson University. There is an additional 2 days of class time with completion of a project, plus a posting fee in order to qualify for credits. Please contact Pat Schuber at 201.692.7174.
The Certified Law Enforcement Executive Program
The Institute has been approved for 50 Certified Law Enforcement Executive Program (CLEEP) Units. Submission of the NJSACOP Law Enforcement Executive Certification Application should be forwarded to the NJSACOP State Office, along with required fees. All applications will be reviewed by the NJSACOP Certification Committee in accordance with that committee's standard operating procedures. Limited Enrollment
The New Jersey Police Executive Institute is limited to approximately 40 students per session. Sessions will be held one time per year.
Dress Code
The dress for classes is business casual. Dress for the class photo is business attire.
