ACTIVE CHIEFS ONLY:

New Police Chiefs Orientation Program

Each year, the NJSACOP hosts and coordinates this program
for newly appointed Chiefs of Police.

The NJSACOP has taken up the task of working with the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice, the New Jersey State Police and other important agencies to host and coordinate the annual training and orientation program for Police Chiefs appointed over the preceding 12-month period.

The new Chief has the option of brining his/her second-in-command as well.

Agenda topics include: Policy Development, Risk Management, Attorney General Guidelines, Firearms Permits, Domestic Violence, Use of Forfeiture Funds, OPRA, Media Relations, Disipline, and the Police Chiefs Roundtable.

What past attendees had to say about this course:

"Very good program; I have been a Chief for one year and picked something up from each block of instruction."

"Well run, well organized training and a nice mix of learning."

"An excellent program that should be mandatory for all new Chiefs."
