ATTENDANCE IS RESTRICTED TO LAW ENFORCEMENT/MILITARY PERSONNEL ONLY
In the summer of 2005 the United Kingdom experienced the most devastating events ever witnessed in the capital as Extremist Terrorist suicide bombers attacked the iconic London public transport system. As a result of the Coroner's Inquest and Independent Police Complaints Commission recommendations, a learning package has been produced and will be delivered in New Jersey by a UK covert officer who was directly involved in the Police Operation which took place on the 22nd July.
This presentation is an honest, self-reflective delivery, giving a first-hand account from the covert operatives’ viewpoint. It is a detailed synopsis and is fully inclusive of the intelligence, strategy, decision making, operational deployment and key stages of the events of the police operation “The manhunt for a suicide terrorist cell.” It includes the post incident management and welfare of staff concerned in traumatic events in order to assist others in understanding the personal challenges likely to be encountered. Designed to share the significant and valuable lessons learned in order to ensure that post inquiry recommendations are met and that others will benefit from the specialist knowledge of those directly involved. The overall aim to promote best practice, achieve working safely and successfully within a covert environment and to promote debate and the development of staff and tactics.
