The NJSACOP has taken up the task of working with the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice, the New Jersey State Police and other key partners to host and coordinate the annual training and orientation program for Police Chiefs appointed over the preceding 12-month period.
The new Chief has the option of bringing or sending his/her second-in-command as well.
Agenda topics include, among other topics: Policy Development, Risk Management, Attorney General Guidelines, Firearms Permits, Internal Affairs, Fitness-for-Duty and Officer Wellness, Budgeting and Financial Administration, Records and Open Public Records, ABC, Domestic Violence, Use of Forfeiture Funds, Discipline, and the Police Chiefs Roundtable.
